Andel Electric PercussiveOrchestra / In::tension:. by Massimo
Ricci
Touching Extremes Roma, Italy,
November 1, 2005
"[...] there is no doubt that the short
repetitive melodies and thematic fragments going around like a bunch of
stray dogs running in an open field - typical of the majority of the album
- are unconventional, anticonstitutional sonic declarations which sound
like no one else."

Downtown Music Gallery New York,

"[...] Eerie morse-code like percussion,
mysterious processed vocals, layers of odd electric guitar sounds and two
pianos submerged in the waves of turbulent waters. [...]
Laura
does a fine job and controlling the subtleties and balance, as different
instruments float amongst the ghost-like spirits that wander through the
entire work. [...]"

Apopsy Bi-monthly Magazine Syros, Greece, December 2005
"[...] Her roots and experiences from the north, the south, the east
and the west are expressed in the more mysterious, dark and experimental
way through her orchestra. [...] Andel shows
that she likes to be risky, to be immersed in the unknown in order to pull
out something about what the least we can say is that has her own stamp.
We don't need any further evidence in order to check out her alternative
proposal for the jazz orchestra function."

The Wire Magazine, Soundcheck section,

[...] What impresses most, however, is
Andel's compositional clarity and lack of pretension. By subdividing the
group into cells, she allows the instrumentalists freedom to maneuver but
is able to maintain a firm grip on the composition's overall structure.
[...] Andel's work on such pieces has a wonderful conceptual transparency,
but her more tightly controlled compositions are also impressive. [...]
Like all of In::tension:., it is warm, quirky and highly original.

Jazz Weekly Magazine, USA, June
2006
[...] On one hand related to the orchestral
conductions of organized improvisations such as Butch Morris and Masashi
Harada, and on the other the execution of Anthony Braxton’s cyclic Ghost
Trance Music, Andel and her crew create a fascinating and unique take on
group sounds.

Electric
PercussiveOrchestra / In::tension:. by Frank Rubolino
Cadence Magazine, USA, July 2006
[...] This suite strips the outer layers
and exposes the tonal rawness of this challenging mission. Andel touches
a nerve with her adventurous experimentation, but the stimulation continually
beckons one back for further shock treatments.

Jazz e Arredores, Portugal, October

[...] Pessoalmente, lembrou-me
qualquer coisa próxima de uma banda sonora apropriada para as Tales
of Mystery and Imagination, de Edgar Allan Poe. [...]
